Meet Mooij Agro’s Smart Cooling Manager for the cold storage of potatoes, onions and other crops. This smart system communicates between cooling cells and units, and automatically controls the temperature for each unit. The Smart Cooling Manager allows growers and storage managers to control and monitor all cooling and ventilation systems in the most efficient, convenient and reliable way. Since, this software module is integrated into your Croptimiz-r® storage system, you no longer need to operate the screen of the cooling unit.

The Smart Cooling Manager communicates between cells and ensures the ideal temperature for each cooling cell, automatically. And this optimal cooling results in less crop dehydration and waste, and therefore more profit. Moreover, you can always see the correct temperature and the current cooling flows for each cooling cell on a display. So you always know what the temperature is per cell and whether cooling is taking place or not.
Mechanical cooling is becoming increasingly important for potato growers and store managers, due to the disappearance of sprout inhibitors (CIPC).
Refrigeration is becoming increasingly important in potato storage, partly due to the elimination (in the EU) of certain sprout inhibitors. Chlorpropham/CIPC, for example, has not been available for sprout inhibition since harvest 2020. Therefore, a stable climate in the cell is now even more crucial in the storage process. Accurate and reliable cooling is needed to prevent sprout. Namely, good ventilation and cooling ensures that in hot periods the temperature and humidity (no condensation) of the potatoes remain good. This benefits both the quality and quantity as the potatoes remain drier and are less likely to sprout. This is one of the reasons why we developed the smart cooling manager.

1. Monitor and control the temperature per cooling cell, on one display
The Smart Cooling Manager is a smart software system that communicates continuously with all your cooling cells. The system knows the exact temperature per cell and the best storage temperature for each product. The Smart Cooling Manager continuously coordinates this and regulates the ideal temperature and corresponding cooling capacity. In addition, no matter where you are, you always know which cold stores are cooling or not, and you know the temperature and humidity. In the event of malfunctions and problems, you can act immediately.
2. Automatic prioritization system for the distribution of cooling capacity
Many storage managers with multiple cooling cells cannot cool all the cooling cells at the same time during hot weather due to the lack of cooling capacity. The Smart Cooling Manager has a unique prioritization system that allows it to self-distribute the cooling capacity as best as possible.
